I shall close my account tomorrow, after I get some sleep. My reason goes further than anger at the WikiLeaks affair, although it includes it. Certainly, playing a dubious role in stirring up misdirected outrage that can cost the freedom of Mr Assange and others is one good reason.
There is more. Several weeks ago people I know discovered that Amazon was selling a book dealing with child pornography in ways we did not like. Many of us wrote to Amazon, saying that we will not buy from that firm until they remove the book from their stock. My letter claimed that I would soon be closing my account. Since then I have bought nothing from them, and today I shall tell them that I am closing my account as of the writing.

Maybe we should consider the USG the WORST bad guy terrorist out there, cuz they are! But most of the regular American people are nothing like the USG, so don’t blame us! I would LOVE to see anon go after the DEA, cuz it the USG who is responsible for cannabis prohibition. I would love to see more dirty politicians scrambling to cover their criminal asses with more “leaked” information. I would love to see some of these dirty politicians get arrested and actually prosecuted for their crimes, but they are all considered above the law. Well, the citizens of the US are getting really sick of of the USG’s crap, and it’s about time for a major revolution. What all of you should realize is that what Amazon has just shown is that it’s willing to distribute the cables in a much more efficient way. Selling books is what Amazon is known for, and they will vigorously defend their right to sell books.

I find it hypocritical that so many wikileaks supporters, especially the hackers, demonize a company for not doing what no individual among the cyber warriors has been willing to do – fight the government.

Hackers and datawarriors will get my praise and respect when they stop attacking fellow victims of government oppression and coercion and start attacking the government directly.

BTW, going after Sarah Palin’s site was decent start. Keep it in the direction. Disrupt the politicians, leave the companies alone, you’re doing more harm than good.

i closed my amazon account too but that was before the wikileaks controversy. I did it when they where selling a book on how to have sex with kids written by a pedophile, and by the way they used the freedom of speech act to justify selling that crap, but anyway when i emailed them to say how appalled i was their response was to bully and intimidate me into not closing my account down as i will lose access to a list of other services they provide, which i never use. These greedy capitalist pigs will not get a cent of my money anymore, instead i will donate that money to wikileaks and host a mirror site on my server.
