This either reads of a post of fanboy scare, or a post that merely scoffs at the thought that Amazon would go with a proven hardware manufacturer. Everyone knows that the Galaxy Tab (first 7" iteration) was a pre-mature product (though some of us bought it.) You quickly forget that the price range for the newer Galaxy Tabs will be competitively priced to other tablets and that they retain a higher quality than other offerings.

And I have seen cheaper priced Samsung products. If you can't find them, the chance is great that you don't know where to shop for them; including walking into the stores.

You tell others to get a grip and wake up, and yet you don't seem latched on.

Wake up people. Amazon are smart. They are smart enough to know that the tablet market is new, it's unknown, it's based on speculation and that most tablets so far have flopped. Last time I checked they aren't desperate considering Kindle dominance. I'm curious though, how can one blogger's opinion hold so much credibility? Based on how well the Galaxy Tab went over why would Amazon go near them? When is the last time you saw a cheap price Samsung product. I've wasted too much time typing on this debate. Summer 2011? Yeah right. Sure bring it out before the iPad 3. Get a grip.

Amazon's ecosystem would make this a real winner. If they can repeat with video, music and apps what they have achieved with ebooks and throw in a seamless shopping experience it would-be be untouchable.

After all the work Amazon has done on Android infrastructure, and all they've invested in their Kindle platform, it would be crazy for them to not release an Android-based Kindle Color, probably in 7" and 10" versions, similar to the current 2 sizes of Kindles.

They've already rebuilt all the pieces of iTunes -- music, movies, books, app store -- as separate Android apps (well, their video isn't actually an app yet), so all that's left is to glue them together with a coherent UI. Effectively the same thing as the Nook Color, but with Amazon's real Appstore, not B&N's promised one.

If Amazon delivers a user experience as polished and high-quality as that of the original Kindle, this could be a monster challenger to the iPad.
