Amazon has announced that its Amazon Music Unlimited service has launched in the UK. The service is an on-demand streaming music service with a catalog of over 40 million songs that is also packed with thousands of hand curated playlists and personalized stations for subscribers to enjoy. The service works in conjunction with a new Amazon Music Unlimited App that features Alexa voice controls.

"Amazon Music Unlimited brings real value to the millions of people in the UK who are already Prime members, with a choice of subscribing for only £7.99 a month or even £79 per year," said Jeff Bezos, Amazon Founder and CEO. "And if you want a sense of the future of voice-controlled music, go ahead and ask Alexa for a free Amazon Music Unlimited trial, and play around on your Echo. If you don't know the name of a song but know a few lyrics, if you want to hear songs from a specific decade, or even if you're looking for music to match your mood, just ask. Our U.S. customers love Amazon Music Unlimited on Echo, and we think our UK customers will too."

Amazon Prime members already get music with their membership every month at no additional cost with a catalog of 2 million songs. Prime customers in the UK who want an even larger catalog can get access to the 40 million songs Amazon Music Unlimited offers for an additional £7.99/month or £79/year. Non-Prime members can get access for £9.99 monthly.

Amazon also has a special package for Echo owners who want to access music that sells for £3.99 monthly. When accessed on Echo, users can use their voice to turn Echo into a personalized jukebox with no searching or browsing required to find the exact music you want. All the user needs to do is ask for the song they want to hear. If you don't know the name of the song, you can say a few of the lyrics and Echo will find the track for you. Users can also say an artist and Echo will make a playlist of that artist's most popular songs. Users can also ask for music by genre like '80s hits and more.
