Why would it have a camera? Who doesn’t have a camera on their phone that would be better than anything they would waste time and money putting on Fire? No camera.

Mobile flash is on most android phones and supports most flash content.

Skyfire is browser that is available on devices without flash. Their companies servers process flash video from selected sites and stream to your device in a compatible format (h.264 video standard, which all modern devices support)

It’s sounds as though amazons silk browser will act like skyfire…it won’t be real flash.

But hard to say..

Or you could use your roku, tivo, your internet-enabled lcd, your HTPC, or one of hundreds of other amazon app enabled devices. I’ve got three TV’s in my house with a combination of 10 devices that could play amazon material without messing around with an hdmi cable from a freaking tablet. Amazon is WAY ahead of apple on this one. Every device in your home is becoming more and more connected. Provide the service in the cloud and let the OEMs worry about it. Genius. Ab. so. lute. genius.

Amazon in a moment fired a shot across the bow of apple AND google. They launched the semantic web with Silk and we are going to be looking back in a year and saying holy *(#@!

Battery– I’ve not seen anything on what kind of battery it is, if it’s solid state. I’m an Android kinda gal but sometimes a battery pull is the fastest, most straight-forward way to get a kinked-up device unkinked.

Ummm… no. The Kindle Fire allows you to transmit video to an HD TV or other device WITHOUT a cable. Provided the other device is connected to your WiFi of course. Read up on the ‘WhisperSync’ feature which allows you to pick a video you were watching on the train up on your TV screen at the spot where you paused it on the Fire.

I don’t think Kindle Fire has “Text to Voice” feature. Regular kindle has it, but NOT Fire. But Fire does support audio books, I suppose.

Will the Kindle Fire have the Read to Me feature that the nook color has on it’s Nook Kids section? Where in a human voice, it reads aloud the book to your child?
