Eduran17 call them and you can return it(for any reason)for 30 day’s. I had the kindle 2 for two weeks then they announced the K3 and I returned it with no problem.

Would have bought a NOOK if it had worked in UK due to the Color Display So Now the ‘Fire’ is almost alight I am glad I waited, cool to Look at the illustrations and magazines in Color Lets hope it has the ability to supports talking books

I have the kindle 3G and love it. Buying books is quick and easy. I love that I have FREE 3G internet for life. Though it is not the fastest web browsing it is just fine since that is not way I purchased the kindle. Also the screen is matte so there is no glare for reading which is why I bought it NOT an ipad.

True, but there are ways around such limitations. Even the previous Kindle 3 has been rooted before using a USB method, while this one will be working on the more familiar Android OS.

For example, so long as the USB supports HOST mode, you could always just add a card reader. SD card readers are basically USB devices anyway.

While we don’t know whether or not they will allow other Android apps to be installed, which may make the point mute.

It will be harder to ‘root’ without a SD card slot and only 6GB or RAM

amazon has done too well with the kindle to put out a sub par tablet without complaints from the masses. either its of high quality and success, or low quality and success. no mix and match here.

I bet Amazon will stick with mobi format, as this is pretty much what the Kindle recognizes. If you have DRM-free ePub books, you can convert them to mobi with Calibre (open source).

Actually, reports are that it’ll be $249 starting price with one year Prime membership. While rumor has it existing Amazon Prime members may be able to get a discount.

Not likely to support ePub out of the box though, but like the Nook Color you may be able to root it and run a ePub compatible reader app.

Somehow the prospect of paying for an amazon shop front has no appeal.
I stopped buying from amazon because of terrible service from Market Place sellers.

it's essential as the IPAD is relatively more expensive, hope that Amazon Kindle Fire will have no disadvantages and best customer support.

At $300 or so this would be an instant buy for me. Especially if it will have ePub support!
