Amazon FreeTime Unlimited launches on iPhone and iPad

Amazon has launched its FreeTime Unlimited subscription for iOS. The service was, at one point in time, limited to only Amazon's tablets. The company later launched it for Android, that paving the way for today's expansion: iOS devices. As on the other platforms, the FreeTime Unlimited for iOS subscription brings a vast quantity of kids content.

The Amazon FreeTime Unlimited service provides access to content that is intended for children, helping parents avoid any materials that may not be age-appropriate. The subscription starts at $2.99/month and brings things like apps, books, and videos. Content is grouped into the 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12 age categories.

The service also supports parental controls, enabling parents to control exactly what their kids get access to. The controls include the ability to create a personalized screen time limit, preventing kids from using the devices for too long, as well as setting up content filters, restricting web browsing, and setting educational goals.

Content comes from a variety of sources, among them being some big companies like Disney and Nickelodeon. FreeTime Unlimited can be used on multiple supported devices, meaning iPad owners can also access the content through their, for example, Echo devices.

The app is now available to download from iTunes, where it is free with an in-app purchase. Amazon customers can also buy an annual family FreeTime subscription for $83 USD (Prime) or $119 USD (non-Prime).
