Wayne is correct. It does appear that way. The wood fence post and rail are behind the telescope. But it does seem to be holding it up.

Perhaps when one of them manages to warn us of an incoming impacter then the avarage human will fully appreciate what these people do to keep us from disaster at some point in the future.
