Alltel customers get Blackberry Curve 8530

The iPhone may be the device that grabs many of the headlines around the country, but it's also strapped with the worst 3G network in the country according to some users and customer surveys. On other networks some of the most popular smartphones continue to be the RIM Blackberry line and customers on Alltel now have a new Blackberry to choose from.Alltel has announced that it is now offering the Blackberry Curve 8530 to its customers. The same handset landed on the Sprint network back in December 2009. The Alltel version is much the same with a QWERTY keyboard, WiFi, and multimedia capability.

The handset has integrated GPS with Blackberry Maps and geo-tagging functionality. The handset also supports Stereo Bluetooth, HTML browsing, and sports 256MB of internal memory. The camera on the phone is 2MP and it can record video. The 8530 is on Alltel now for $49.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and a new 1-year contract.
