Surely you’ve missed the point… or they have… the appeal of a console is the simplicity of game installation and one off purchase of the hardware… no need to update software or memory… graphics… that is taken care of by updates from relevant manufacturer… How does it figure that 699 dollars gives a 200 dollar console a run for its money… by rights it should wipe the floor with the inferior hardware… but a core I3 ain’t can’t play games at the same spec as a 6year old console…. do you see my point?

Then what’s the point of it if you just want a console? A PC does more than just plays games, its alot more bang for your buck compared to a console which just mainly plays games or to watch Netflix…

The purpose of the “x51″ is to place the traditional gaming desktop into a small compact form factor to further “create a standard or layout for PC Gaming.”

Yes I’d rather buy the case my self and build the “PC Gaming Box” myself and it would only cost about $800 with an i7 processor. Gaming computers by Alienware or any other add about $300 just to make profits.

Again IF a case like this was to be sold separately, you can expect this to expand and make a much more powerful computer for less than $900.

Making this a system where a knowledgeable end user could service and repair it themselves would put this miles ahead of the PS3 and XB360. I don’t know about warranty work on the XB side but I was never a fan of Sony’s – especially if you try to send in a first Gen PS3.
