Alcatel Onetouch Idol 3 pre-orders kick off April 21

Alcatel Onetouch is one of the lesser talked-out smartphone makers out there, but it has big plans for its upcoming smartphone called the Idol 3. Last we talked about the Idol 3, we mentioned that it was designed to allow it to be usable upside down, which is something that most devices can't support not that you will be needing to use a smartphone upside down often.

Still, if you like what Alcatel Onetouch is cooking with the Idol 3, you will be glad to hear that pre-orders will kick off this month. The Idol 3 will go up for pre-order on April 21 for $249.99. That is a $30 savings over the normal MSRP of $279 during the pre-order period.

Devices that are pre-ordered will ship in May. The smartphone will be sold unlocked in the US and will work on any GSM LTE network in the country, including T-Mobile and AT&T. There is no word on if carriers will offer the smartphone directly at this time.

The Idol 3 will have a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 display and use a Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 octa-core processor. The OS is Android 5.0.2 and the main camera is a 13MP unit with an 8MP front camera. Internal storage is 16GB and the Idol 3 gets 2GB of RAM. Power comes from a 2910 mAh internal battery.
