Aisle411 iPhone App Hands On

There are several apps in the iOS App Store that will help users find something, even if they're in knee-deep in a grocery store, or some other retail store. But for Aisle411, they're taking a different approach. Instead of focusing on the map-side of things, or the GPS in its entirety, the company is focusing more on finding the item in the store, as well as making it fun to check-in with social gaming aspects.

Aisle411 has coupled with Coupons.com to make sure that when you check in at a store, you'll be able to find the best deals for what you're looking for, when you're looking for it. With the app, users will be able to locate an item, right down to the specific aisle that it's on. The app itself is powered by Nuance. You'll also be able to manage shopping lists with the application, locate product reviews, and interact with friends thanks to the social media integration.

The app will work in more than 600 stores across the United States, as well as in Lowe's. The app is available right now in the App Store, and it's free. There's an Android application in development, and Aisle411 will be launching an Android and BlackBerry app later in 2011.
