AirParrot screen mirroring comes to Chrome OS

Mirroring your screen is a handy feature that users of traditional desktop operating systems have long taken advantage of. Now Chrome OS is getting into the mix in a significant way as AirParrot comes to the platform. Though screen mirroring isn't new to Chrome OS, either, AirParrot has a lot of advantages over existing mirroring apps. You can mirror the entire screen, or just a window in Chrome OS. AirParrot also mirrors your desktop to any AirPlay receiver, even Apple TV.

The Chrome OS version also cobbles in a few AirParrot firsts. If users enter a quick connect code or IP address, it allows for connectivity where a network may not support discoverability. You can also see recently connected devices on the top of the receiver list.

When a Chrome OS user starts mirroring, their name will appear on screen. This will likely eliminate confusion as to who is currently showing their screen.

The app is currently available via the Chrome Web Store for $9.99. If you're an enterprise user, or want to use AirParrot for your educational needs, the app can be purchased in bulk quantities form AirParrot directly.

Screen mirroring comes in handy for many settings, but meetings and classroom find the most favor. As Chromebooks start to become more widely used for those arenas, apps like AirParrot may become a standard.
