One last thing, the article talks about spying??? you have to be within in sight of the heli, it’s an IR remote and you wouldn’t be able to see where you were going anyway, sure you can spy on whatever is already within plain sight, yay.

So I honestly was going to make a vid of my hawk eye and I went to fly it and the cam wouldn’t come on, then I flew it for a minute and the lower rotor stopped spinning, maybe it’s not so great, I just took it back but they were out of stock, I have two sharpshooters, I may just stick with them and buy something else.

i don’t think htey sell rotors because their return policy only asks you to cut a rotor and send them a picture ofit to prove it’s disabled …then they send you a new one without you having to send the broken one….long story short: if they sold replacement rotors, one could call for a replacement chopper for their perfectly good chopper, do the disablement, then just order a replacement blade for the disabled heli (that wasn’t really disabled) so the whole policy hinges on there not having blade available, they sent me a new heli and now my old one works (it was the remote charger) and I tape the rotor bak up but I put an equal amount of tape on the other side, it’s pretty good.

month later but if you need help still, turn the trim in the opposite direction as the heli spins, keep turning, could be many turns, then when it starts to turn the opp. way, just fine tune it, you’ll have to keep on hte trim through out flight as the battery reduces in power.

James, mine turns on a dime -lay off the throttle a little just before you turn, then giver throttle and use the other stick gently into the turn, i could do just about any sort of obstacle course out there, seriously…. I hear you on the trim but if you’re quick it isn’t that bad, it’s just that the dynamics change as the battery power loses power, which requires a lot of attention. anyhow, hope that tip helps you or someone else who might read this. Mines charging, I’ll try to rig up a makeshift demo course and post a link.

This is NOT a webcam, I have one, it’s fun, cool, flies well, the cam is low res (but c’mon it’s in a heli for $65) however, it’s NOT a webcam anymore than your digital camera is, it doesn’t act as a cam while plugged in (which sux), you couldn’t actually use it in webchat like say a “webcam”

I like it, but it’s a digital camera

If anyone knows where you can get replacement parts for the Hawkeye, please advise. We have a broken rotor, taped it and it flies, but now it only turns right because the scotch tape makes that side heavier….

Broke the main rotor linkage rod and ball on my Hawk Eye. Where can I get replacement rotor assembly or parts? Called Air Hogs but no help?

the usb port is located in the back of the consoler or for the helicopter it is located at the bottom hope it helps!

Same problem earlier. USB port is on the controler behind the tail when docked. Plug it into USB port on computer and let it charge.

I got the Hawkeye for my birthday and to tell you the truth it really is not worth the money. You only get about 5 minutes of flight time (when they tell you 10 minutes) and most of that time is took up by having to toggle your trim because the helicopter is not very stable. The helicopter’s turn radius is very poor once you actually get it moving and if your looking for quick time flight controls then this is not the toy you want. The video quality is highly lame and that goes for the picture quality as well. I recommend spending an extra $20-$40 more and getting a better quality remote control helicopter. I will be returning the Hawkeye because the commericals has really up-played how good the toy actually is. Overall, I am not impressed.
