Age of Conan surpasses the 400,000 subscriber mark

There's no doubt that World of Warcraft is the most successful MMORPG in history, but it can't hold that title forever. It's going to take one hell of a game to take its crown, and it looks like Age of Conan just might be the one to do it.

Sure, it's way too early to tell, but Age Of Conan is already making headways. The game launched only a little over a week ago, and already has racked up a whopping 400,000 subscribers. I'd say that's not too shabby at all.

Of course the real test is going to be how the end-game plays. If they are able to create an endgame that keeps players constantly coming back for more, then we'll no doubt see these numbers climbing in the way they did for WoW. If they don't succeed in the end-game, then it'll be more of a rocky road.
