Aereo to launch service in Cincinnati metro region January 21

Aereo, the company that utilizes over-the-air TV broadcasts to offer customers in select regions a type of television service, has announced its latest expansion — the Cincinnati metro area. With this newest launch, the service will be available to one of Ohio's biggest cities, as well as residents in nearby Kentucky and Indiana locations.

By rolling out into the great Cincinnati area, Aereo will be arriving in a total of eight counties in Ohio (Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Hamilton, Highland, and Warren), as well as ten counties in Kentucky and six counties in Indiana. There will be in excess of 30 over-the-air channels provided to viewers in those areas.

Aereo will be available in those areas starting January 21, with individuals who pre-register on the company's website getting special priority over the others. This makes for 24 new counties total, and comes close on the heels of a Supreme Court battle with competitors that want the service shut down.

Said Aereo's Founder and CEO Chet Kanojia: "Aereo is growing and we're thrilled that our expansion has brought us to the Greater Cincinnati region and three new states: Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana ... We're committed to providing best-in-class technology and customer service to our users and we're excited to introduce Aereo to Greater Cincinnati."
