Adobe doesn’t make malware and you aren’t free of their products on iOS. Since Adobe Air is used to develop apps for iOS… along with services like Adobe Flash Media Server that some sites use to stream media to iOS devices, and apps like Adobe Reader, Photoshop Express, etc.

Apple just never accepted the Adobe Flash Player, which is only one of their Flash products. While those who jailbreak have used options like “Frash” (ported copy of the Flash Player) to get Flash player support on iOS for years now.

Though the Flash Player in general is going to be phased out of mobile devices as new versions of Android are released, except for those companies that will continue to support it themselves. While Adobe will only continue to update the desktop version, with the mobile version only getting security updates and patches from now on.

Mind just removing the Flash player doesn’t remove Flash completely… You just won’t be aware of it.

While iOS hasn’t been entirely free of malware, just nothing serious yet.

Same with Flash on Windows, it has a auto updater option…

While the Play Store will usually notify you on Android, and may auto update if you have that set as well in the Play Store options settings.

I don’t think it is possible to install any sort of arbitrary software on a (non jailbroken) PS3, is it? I don’t remember ever taking any steps for Flash support. It does prompt “Do you want to run the plugin?” when I go to, say, Pandora, though.

As far as I know you have to install it in the PS3 and regarding Android, I’ve never seen any Android device with flash pre-installed, anyway if that’s the case it can be disabled so that it won’t be used while browsing the web…

Really? It used to come pre-installed with MacOS, and apparently does now on many Android devices. For that matter it is on my PS3 and probably other platforms by default.

Well, this is unpleasant. The ghastly cliche ‘way, shape, or form,’ whose use I had hoped was declining, has instead grown stronger by taking on a new meaning. It appears that the cliche can now serve as a substitute for ‘version.’ This makes me want to punch someone.
