This is so said, we witnessed Flash assassination multiple times, first by Steve Jobs, now by Adobe itself.

Steve Jobs blocked flash on iPads as a revenge related to a 10 years old incident with Adobe, you can read the details here: http://thewebhelp.com/flash/why-is-there-no-flash-on-ipad/

Youtube uses both flash and html5 players depending on the video being displayed, do you think YOUTUBE developers are lazy too? It is because html5 cannot play videos properly.

There are SO many sites that use Flash, why would Adobe drop support? Even worse, they are are still supporting Flash developers, so the websites will still use Flash ... it's only the mobile devices that won't be able to use these sites. What a horrendously terrible strategy.

That is so horrendously incorrect. Flash player is still used for a lot of video players, yes. But only because the developers are too lazy to switch to html5. If you look at YouTube on a mobile browser and deny it the switch to the youtube app you can still play the video without flash in the browser. And most video sites that you are likely to encounter on your mobile web(or even desktop for that matter) has an app that will play the videos. Flash is only rarely useful and often times more trouble than its worth on android and i am personally glad to see it go so people will no longer think it is okay to use.

i really don't like iOS any more. I'll keep my Galaxy Note and hack it with Flash until I can't do it any more. By then HTML5 development will have caught up a lot more, namely video.

Flash should have been gone a long time ago. HTML5 is so much nicer. Honestly with all the options that are out there and as advanced as the internet and programming has become, I'm surprised people even still think of Flash as an option. Flash was the choice 10 yrs ago. Its time to upgrade.
