The Addonics Zebra family joins the Hi-Def venture with the release of Blu-Ray and HD-DVD combo player. The multiple functional optical drive also supports legacy DVD, DVD DL, CD and burns DVD±R/RW and CDRW media . Bundled with Cyberlink High-Def Suite, it enables PC user to have one universal optical drive solution for standard and HD multimedia playback.

Addonics rolls out HD-DVD Blu-Ray Combo drive

Maximum transfer are rated by Addonics as Blu-ray BD-ROM 215.79 Mbits/s (6x); HD DVD-ROM 109.65 Mbits/s (3x); DVD-ROM 22.16 Mbytes/s (16x) and CD-ROM 6,000 Kbytes/s (40x). User will has two interface options, high speed choice of a solo ESATA at $409 or combines with ESATA and USB 2.0 at $429. I wish they have optional software package for user that already owned the multimedia application or preferred Corel WinDVD with the upcoming BD-Video Profile 1.1 Certification.
