The thing I see that the iPad has over the tablets is accessories. There are thousands of them for the iPad/iPhone. Even if they make the Android tablets/phone that is better, faster, and cheaper you don't have the shear number of accessories Apple, and it's affiliates, have.

In my opinion (I have a lot of them), if android tablets/phones want grow market share, they need to come up with a standard docking connector/interface for sound, power, and external IO (Like USB, keyboards, speakers, microphones ... etc). Right now every vender has a different connector and very limited accessories. Not all tablets need to suport all the types IO just use the same interface.

The PC has a bunch of standards for their components, the android tablets need to do the same.

I have both a iPhone and an android tablet. I can get a charger for my iPhone just about anywhere, but not my tablet.

I think apple woll eventully be second to android simply brcaise it monopolises the market with expensive accessories. The fact that so many manufaturers use android also should be good enough.

The new Asus transformer prime looks like the one to beat right now, that tab with it's keyboard dock looks awsome. How well all these tabs do against Apple depends mostly on how ICS is received and on how well it's marketed. So far the reviews have been great for Andriods new OS as it is on the Nexus phone and should be the same for tabs but if nobody knows about it the ipad will continue to dominate.

I've done that monitor and keyboard stuff it's easy. In all my classes I allways let shit done 10x faster on my ipad than people with laptops. Deleting files on ios isn't hard. Apple is loosing smartphone markets hare because 10 + companies are flooding the market. Apple is the market leader but when people clump up android makers they count tham all as one apple has 28% and samsung htc Motorola and others have 10% chunks. Besides apple will become the worlds largest in the pc market next year.

Once you try out an Asus Android Tablet with a keyboard, external hard drive and external monitor. No other tablet comes close to what it offers and IOS devices seem like you have your hands tied behind your back after you try this.

At this stage.. I would not consider an iPad for anything because it lacks real multitasking that Android offers. That and the fact it is impossible to delete files or try changing languages and you end up with a mess on IOs, are good enough reasons not to even consider the use of any IOS device.

In the past week I have shown a good number of IOs fans the differences. All now are using Android and not an IOs and they see the light. IOs fans will stick with Apple for a while ... but the usefulness and attrition will come over time. This is the reason Apple's market share has been declining and will continue to do so over the next few years.
