Acer Ferrari 1200 12.1-inch ultraportable launches in Milan

Not content with the budget end of the ultraportable market, Acer have announced yet another Ferrari notebook as part of the branding deal with the Italian supercar manufacturer.  The Acer Ferrari 1200 has a 12.1-inch LED-backlit display, AMD Turion X2 Ultra dual-core mobile processor and up to 4GB of  DDR2 memory, but we all know that far more important is the carbon-fiber cover, anodized-metal touchpad (said to resemble the car's pedals) and soft-touch coating.

You also get an exclusive Bluetooth mouse and there's an optional VoIP handset to go with the Ferrari 1200.  Other specs include a slot-loading DVD drive, "large capacity" SATA hard-drive, Dolby Home Theater audio and WiFi.  There's also a webcam and biometric security courtesy of the fingerprint scanner, together with Acer's DASP hard-drive protection system.

No word on how much the keys to the Acer Ferrari 1200 will set you back, but figure more than the equivalently spec'd 12.1-inch ultraportable just by virtue of the brand name.  It'll apparently be available in the first half of 2009.
