Acer Chromebook C720P refreshed with 2GB of memory and Moonstone color

Acer has boosted its Chromebook line with a new configuration option, the C720P-2600. With this refresh of sorts, the laptop will be available next week in Moonstone White, and with the new color will also come a slight increase in memory to 2GB. Beyond that, the laptop remains largely the same as the original model, and will be sold at retailers for $299.99 USD.

The Chromebook 720P-2600, as with the previous model, is a touchscreen laptop running Google's Chrome OS. With the device, users get a 11.6-inch HD LED display with 10-point touch support for various gestures (pinching, zoom, etc.). The resolution comes in at 1366 x 768 pixels, which given the display size should result in a nice, fairly compact view.

Under the hood, the new C720P model runs the Haswell-based Intel Celeron 2955U processor, which helps contribute towards the claimed battery life up to 7.5 hours. There's a 32GB SSD, and the same rapid boot time those who have used past Chromebooks will be familiar with. The thickness is a svelte 0.78-inches and the weight is 2.98 pounds.

The new Acer Chromebook 720P-2600, as mentioned, will launch next week in the United States for $299.99. With it will come an extendable one-year standard parts and labor warranty. There's 12 free hours of Gogo Internet passes tossed into the mix, as well as the expected 100GB of Google Drive storage space for two years after purchase.
