Why in the world is Intel paying all these manufacturers to make Air clones, and why is Intel even subsidizing these guys so they can beat the Macbook Air on price? So strange.

Wow, wasn't the iPad supposed to kill off desktops, laptops and anything else with a keyboard, except for the Macbook Air? The ultra sized market is Apple's huge mistake. Instead of capitalizing on a convergence between tablets and slimtops, everyone else got there first. There is nowhere for Apple to go. Android based ultrabooks are around the corner or should I say those running on Chrome? Starting to see the picture?

With Windows 8 hovering in landing mode and Google now firmly entrenched Apple simply hasn't enough influence to lead the market. In the space of a few months, a new market developed and Apple was absent, save the Air. The Air is a niche product that appeals mostly to Apple fans and few others, relatively speaking.

Yes, they will sell untold millions of ultrabooks. Spend more than a few minutes responding to emails and you are looking around for a keyboard. You see the screen peckers trying to tap out sentences in vain as their in-box continues to flood. They hopelessly go over and over their messages, trying to get around auto spell checkers, the wrong symbols and the simply inefficient on-screen keyboard.

You see, the market in which the tablet really excels isn't big enough to have propelled Apple to the heights it attained. So they marketed the iPad as the everything tool, which it isn't, suitable for everyone, which it isn't.
