Acer Aspire One D255 unearthed

A new Acer Aspire One D255 netbook has surfaced that is a follow up to the AOD260 netbook from Acer with a few changes. The machine offers some new color options, no shiny chrome and it shares some of the same features as the machine it replaced.

The rig features an Intel Atom N550 with dual-cores running at 1.5GHz with a 512KB L2 cache. The CPU supports hyperthreading providing four cores as far as the OS is concerned.

There still aren't that many netbooks running the newer dual-core Atom and while its slightly slower than the 1.6GHz speed the single core Atom's operate at, I think most folks will find the performance to be ok. The little machine has a 10.1-inch screen, WiFi, Bluetooth, and up to 250GB of storage. Pricing and availability are unknown.
