According to the Acer Support website all devices EXCEPT the a501 will get the ICS update by mid-april… so basically the 3G carrier supported models are out of luck… and so now I have even more reasons to switch to an iPad…

There will be no ICE update from acer for the iconia tab a500.
This is confirmed by Acer headquarters on friday 10-02-2012.

seriously? A501 was supposed to get update to 3.2 in OCT of 2011, never came… still on 3.0.1. I wonder where people get their dates from

Still on 3.2.1 here in the US, so I don’t think Acer is treating Canada any worse than the US… I’m wondering IF they’re going to follow through on their promise to deliver ICS to the tablets or not. Since January will be over in just a few more hours (technically, just over 8 hours) I seriously doubt it will be released in time. I’ll probably get my Android 4 powered phone (towards the end of February) before ICS is on the A500. Pretty sad since I would like to try out the newer OS on the tablet.

I still don’t have Ics on my a500 tablet in Canada. I think Acer sees Canadians as black because there’s still no 3.2 update either at minimum.

The only tablets I had seen before the Acer Iconia Tab were the iPad and
iPad2, and frankly I use an iPhone, so the big iPod really didn’t blow
me away. The Acer Iconia Tablet is really what I envisioned a tablet
should be! Great performance, personalization, and expandability. I can
easily hook it up to my computer via USB and it acts like any other
drive on my computer. Not to mention the other ports like micro HDMI and
a micro SD card slot that make using it with any other PC devices I
have very simple.
