Aaron Greenberg takes over Xbox Global Marketing Team

This afternoon former Chief of Staff for Microsoft's Devices Group Aaron Greenberg has let it be known that he'll be changing roles. After working as Chief of Staff for Microsoft's Devices Group for three and a half years, Greenberg will be taking his new place leading Global Product Marketing for Xbox 1st party games, 3rd party games, and Xbox Entertainment Studios.

This is a rather sizable change for Greenberg, not only because he's been Chief of Staff for such a long time. Working with the Xbox Marketing Team changes his role entirely – though he has been a rather public voice for the Xbox One already over the past year.

Greenberg spoke up earlier this year about E3 2014, suggesting there would be a big focus on games for this upcoming season. He also made a point not too long ago to clarify a sales point in April of the Xbox One, making it clear that he'd already begun focus on the gaming console before this big move.

This change-over is likely due – at least in part – to the new appointment of former Nokia president and CEO to Microsoft's Devices Group. Elop will serve as executive vice president of the Microsoft Devices Group, reporting directly to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
