That’s really odd – as I said, I have had absolutely no trouble accessing music downloaded with Zune Pass in areas (such as the tube) where there is no signal… Everything plays exactly the same (music, videos, podcasts – anything I have downloaded to my phone) regardless of whether there is signal or not. To test this I even turned off the phone’s radio altogether (using flight mode) and it still works just fine. It’s nothing partularly clever that I’ve done either (as far as I know). It’s just always worked since I bought it. (For clarification, I’m using the HTC Mozart, with OS version 7.0.7004.0)

Also, I’m pretty sure it’s not a network issue, since Orange (which I’m on) doesn’t even have particularly fantastic coverage, so it’s not like I’m getting some sort of added benefit from them that T-Mobile USA wouldn’t give you…

Does this problem also affect stuff you’ve bought, or just Zune Pass material? Just cuirious…

But, if you look at the comment right above, it looks like someone else is having the same issue I’m having.

As I said in the article, I’m not sure why it happens. Truth be told, I literally have to have no data connection at all, and the Music & Videos section won’t load. When it won’t load, I can’t get to the music player. Unless there’s a way around this, other than the method I outlined in the article, I haven’t found it yet. With that being said, I’m working on finding out how to get around it, one way or another.

Data connection or not, I should be able to listen to my music, and access the music player specifically, whenever I want.

Second, with that in mind, this is my personal experience with the HD7, running T-Mobile USA, in a part of the United States that doesn’t have the greatest T-Mobile coverage. With my experience, I’ve noticed that, without a data connection of any kind, I can’t access Music & Videos, and therefore can’t access the music player. Every single time I try to access it, without a data connection, the Music & Videos just won’t load. That’s it. Exactly what I said in the article.

Again, not a review. Personal experience. If you’re able to get it to work in your daily usage, that’s fantastic. Even in the tube. Obviously I can’t verify that at all, so I’ll just have to give you a metaphorical pat on the back for getting it to work.

I am uzing an HTC Mozart with WP7 and Zune Pass, and all of the music I have downloaded using Zune Pass works just fine, even when I am on the London Tube (i.e. under dozens of feet of earth and concrete with absolutely no signal). All my music and podcasts all play just fine, INCLUDING music I downloaded using Zune Pass (i.e. music that I did not pay for, just downloaded under the monthly subscrition).
