Handbrake also comes with preset settings for different apple devices. I use the preset one for the iPhone and it looks great. If you have widescreen movies, just select that and convert away. If you're like me, though, and you don't like the horizontal black bars and you want to fill the entire Nook Color screen, I suggest going into video settings and increasing the vertical dimensions to 720. It does give the picture a bit of a strectched look, but the full screen looks great.

Hmmm...I've had no problems loading movies. In fact, I have 6 movies on my 16gb microsd card. I have a Mac and used the free Handbrake software to convert my movies into mp4. They look and sound great.

What is the experience like reading a e-book you’ve loaded manually (that is, form a source other than B&N)? Do they have to be opened from the ‘My Files” area, or do they show up in the book library? Do they show up in the most recently read items in the bar at the bottom of the home screen? Can you place shortcuts for them on the home screen like a normal, B&N e-book?

Thanks!
