Motorola is releasing a new version of the PEBL. The new version has an external LCD w/music controls ala the Razr 2.
Still no standard headphone jack, so bust out the mini-USB headphones again. Speculation on the model name/number is that it might mean 3G. The new phone is apparently being re-badged as the ROKR U9.
This renaming of the new device likely means a strong tie to music functions. I really kind of like the original PEBL just for its shape and simple appearance, but couldn’t ever bring myself to buy one due to its lack of features, this phone seems to take care of that problem.
