Looks like the guys over at Crunchgear got their hands on the new Sidekick ID a little earlier than the rest of us. Since our demo won’t be in until later today, I figured that I would share their initial thoughts on it.

First, although it seems to have the look of cheap plastic, it is anything but. It has a solid feel to it. They even go as far as to say it actually feels sturdier than its big brother, the SK3. However, the small 2.5” screen does appear to be quite dim, with pictures showing up somewhat washed-out.

Overall, they definitely recommend it for anyone that is mostly concerned with messaging than the other features like Bluetooth and a camera. I’ll have my hands on one soon, so check back for our hands-on review.

No, there’s no camera – you’ll need to look at the SK3 for that.
