A-DATA unveils N002 USB 3.0/SATA II dual interface flash drive

With USB 3.0 on the horizon we are starting to see lots of gear show up that supports the new interface. We may not see native Intel USB 3.0 chipsets in 2010, but we will see lots of add-in cards and peripherals show up next year and a bunch of them will be seen first at CES 2010.A-DATA has announced an interesting new flash drive called the N002 Combo Flash Drive. The device is equipped with both USB 3.0 and SATA II connectivity. That means that the thing can be used as an external USB 3.0 drive on systems supporting the new speedy option and on older systems lacking USB 3.0 the data can be accessed via SATA connectivity or USB 2.0.

The drive promises 200MB/sec read performance and 170 MB/sec write performance. The drive is set to hit market in January 2010 and it will be bundled with A-DATA UFD toGO and a trial of Norton Internet Security software. Pricing is unannounced at this time.
