I try to steer away from writing about the same subject twice in one day, but I watched the Guitar Hero World Tour video again for a good look at the drums, and I noticed something strange. Lets see if you can spot it in the picture below.

If you haven’t figured it out, the two cymbal pads are the same color. This would (logically) mean that you could strike either one for the same effect. So what does this mean? This means that you’ve got one less pad to worry about, but one extra pad to show off with.
I’m going to have to confirm with Activision that both pads are truly one and the same. The colors are pretty much a dead giveaway, but I’d like to be certain. I’ll let you know what I find out.
Update: This is why I hate being colorblind. I can see only a slight color variation between the two cymbals in the video and this picture. I’m really hoping that this won’t be an issue when playing the game. However, it has been confirmed that there are only three drum pads and two cymbals, so there’s only one extra pad to hit.

But one’s orange and the other is yellow… how is that the same?
Uh, yeah. Yellow and orange.
Errmm….. We’re going to take a trip to meet a friend of mine, his name is ROY G. BIV. I’m sure you’ve heard of him; he….. you know…. is the main color spectrum and such. There’s definitely a yellow and an orange pad, sir. Thanks for playing!
Ha ha ha ha, haa haa ha ho ho whoo he he!
ROY G. BIV! I haven’t heard that since physics back in the 11th grade!
Man that made me laugh!!
Thank you for that.
Perhaps yellow and orange are just too close in the spectrum for this blogger…
Again, thanks for the laugh!
PS. Mike’s comment is fuelling more giggles out of me. Man I love sarcasm!!!
Color blind FTL!
Just to clarify… the drum set is now the same color as the guitars (Green – Red – Yellow – Blue – Orange).
are you retarded, 2 colors idiot
but don’t the bottom left pad and the top right cymbal kind of look the same
if you are color blind, why would you post a blog about color?
