Looking mighty familiar, but with a heritage that escapes our memory right now, Malata’s latest netbook is one of the increasingly popular convertible touchscreen models. The Malata R108T packs a rotating 10-inch 1024 x 600 touchscreen – which we’re presuming is resistive – together with the usual dreary roster of 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor, 1GB of memory and 160GB hard-drive, but makes up for that by apparently being priced at around $435.
ASUS’ Eee PC T91MT multitouch-capable convertible touchscreen netbook may only just be available in the US, but that hasn’t stopped MyT91’s Kubel from scripting up a full review of the finger-friendly device. According to his report, the T91MT not only has a great keyboard but a reasonably effective touchscreen; it can only recognize two points of contact and has neither palm-rejection nor pressure-sensitivity, but it still manages to offer more touch-control than previous versions of the T91.
Having gone up for preorder in Europe midway through October, the upcoming multitouch-capable ASUS Eee PC T91MT has now shown up for preorder in the US. Amazon are listing the convertible touchscreen netbook – the T91MT-PU17-WT, to give it its full, catchy title – for $549, though they don’t have any specific release date.
The ASUS Eee Keyboard saga continues, and we’re beginning to think it’s the company’s version of vaporware. At their latest launch event in London, UK, this week, the Eee Keyboard – which squeezes a nettop and touchscreen into a keyboard form-factor, and was first debuted at CES back in January – was conspicuous by its absence, with ASUS telling Electricpig that the device was still mired in testing; however, ASUS have also been demonstrating their latest version of the Eee Keyboard to NetbookNews, with nary a mention of release delays.

Launch details for ASUS’ long-promised Eee PC T91 with multitouch have been revealed, courtesy of Amazon’s preorder listings for the convertible touchscreen netbook. First demonstrated back in June at Computex, and officially confirmed by ASUS shortly after, the T91 Multitouch will officially go on sale come October 22nd, unsurprisingly running Windows 7.
Back when we reviewed the ASUS Eee Top ET1602 late last year, we suggested it could be the epitome of a niche product: netbook hardware squeezed into an unusual desktop case. Now all-in-ones are more common, and so ASUS have returned with an updated design, bigger screen and more media-centric intentions. The ASUS Eee Top ET2002-B024C sticks with Intel’s Atom CPU range but now pairs it with NVIDIA’s Ion graphics chipset for potentially 1080p High-Definition performance. Acer’s attempts to corner the touch market haven’t stopped at their multitouch notebook; the company has also outed a touchscreen all-in-one desktop, the Acer Aspire Z5610-U9072, with a 23-inch 1920 x 1080 HD display. Running Windows 7 on a dual-core Pentium E5300 2.60GHz with 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard-drive and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570 512MB video card, the Z5610 comes with Microsoft’s Touch Pack as well as Acer’s own TouchSuite.
The wire has been pretty barren when it comes to word of ASUS’ upcoming 10.2-inch convertible touchscreen netbook, the Eee PC T101H. Last we heard, ASUS had pushed its release back until September “at the earliest” and were watching sales performance of the T91 before finally green-lighting the project; now, according to NetbookNews’ sources, the T101H will make its official debut at CES 2010, complete with Intel’s next-gen Atom N450 1.66GHz processor.
We’ve been waiting for the ASUS Eee Keyboard for a very long time, at least that’s how it feels, so it’s good to see some movement happening over at the FCC. They’ve just published the Eee Keyboard’s user manual, together with a whole batch of external, internal and wireless-testing photos. Among the details there’s a fair few shots of the media-centric nettop/keyboard hybid’s UWB (ultrawideband) system.
HTC’s HD2 (aka the HTC Leo) keeps showing up in various carriers‘ promo material, though since they only ever say “biggest WinMo phone yet!” it’s been hard to pin down exact specifications. Happily, that’s all changed thanks to one talkative xda-developers board member; he’s managed to sneak out the full spec sheet – which you can read after the cut – together with a few new live photos of the smartphone itself.
