We have been enjoying the new cheaper PS3 Slim in the US and other countries for a while now. In fact we are already looking forward to the 250GB PS3 Slim coming stateside next month. In Malaysia, gamers have not been able to get their hands on the PS3 Slim yet. Sony announced today that the PS3 Slim would hit the Malaysian market on October 31.

It’s not just the Japanese getting some 250GB PlayStation3 love; Sony US have announced that there’s a 250GB version of the PS3 Slim incoming for their gamers too.  The 250GB PS3 Slim will land on November 3rd, and be functionally identical to its existing 120GB sibling; unlike in Japan, there’ll be no bundled games or unusual color editions.

Sony’s PS3 Slim may have only been on sale for three weeks – the compact console arrived on September 1st – but they’ve already shifted one million units worldwide.  The PS3 Slim simultaneously hit shelves in North America, Europe, Asia and Japan for $299, €299 or 29,980 yen respectively, complete with a 120GB hard-drive and Full HD 1080p support.  To celebrate – or perhaps just as a nice coincidence – Sony Japan have announced a 250GB PS3 Slim bundle, with a “ceramic white” console and Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Edition.

Sony may have denied the existence of any imminent 250GB PS3 Slim bundles, but obviously nobody told retailer GameStop in Norway.  According to an apparent leak from their inventory system, several 250GB SKUs – bundling titles like Need for Speed: ShiftFIFA 10Uncharted 2 and Assassin’s Creed 2 – are incoming to the store.

Well they say time files when you are having fun, but they never mention how fast time flies when you are typing your fingers to bleeding nubs to bring your wonderful readers all the gadget news fit to print and then some. Here we are again with another week in review for your reading pleasure. Spotify hit iPhone and Android devices this week. So many people grabbed the app that the free service quickly went back to invite only status. Sony unveiled a super-thin new wireless HDTV this week that makes Paris Hilton look fat by comparison. I am almost afraid to find out what the thin and feature packed set will cost.

Who’s tired of official announcements? Well, we’re not, but let’s shake some things up with a bit of a leak, what do you say? Well, not so much a leak, as a rumor. A rumor from a mole. So you know just about how far you can take this: as long as your imagination goes. Either way, if the competition has anything to say about it, then a 250GB PS3 Slim doesn’t seem all that impossible.

Another week has come and gone leaving us with memories and a hoard of cool stories to throw your way for weekend reading in case you missed them over the week. An Asus 900HA netbook was hacked into a touchscreen slate on Monday and we really liked it. DIY gear is so cool, especially when it turns out this good. Monday also brought some details on the Blackberry Storm 2 piezo touchscreen tech. We really hope its better than the original Storm.

Remember that “new” console we saw yesterday? You know the one: it looks a lot like the current Xbox 360 Elite, except that it comes with a 250GB hard drive this time around; and in the box, we’ve supposedly got two controllers and a copy of Forza Motorsport 3. Remember now? Good. And, even if you thought it was a fake ad brought up by Amazon Germany to excite people for no reason whatsoever, it looks like we’ve got another ad to (perhaps) solidify the deal.

It’s looking more and more like online retailers are letting the ball slip on these kinds of things; or maybe it’s crafty marketing by the manufacturers, to get people enticed by early leaks and what not. We can’t say for sure, and wouldn’t that ruin the surprise? And let’s face it, after days like today and the official price reduction of the current line of Xbox  360s, we need some more rumors and speculation. Thankfully, we’ve got Amazon Germany.

Microsoft have confirmed that the Xbox 360 Elite console will see a price cut to $299.99 as of tomorrow, while the Xbox 360 Pro will see a more conservative $50 discount to $249.99, for as long as stocks last.  Rumors of price shuffles have circulated for some time now, with various leaked store fliers confirming that retailers are getting ready for the cuts.
