Weeks are flying by and it’s time for another week in review. Monday we learned that a new hack was available from the iPhone Dev Team that adds MMS to first generation iPhones and tethering to 3.1.2 OS for the later iPhone models. We also found out that Microsoft is set to issue a new update for the Xbox 360 that will break unauthorized storage devices. That means that some gamers will be unable to access the saved game data after applying the new update.

Remember T-Mobile Project Dark and the leaked shots purporting to be new price plans for the US carrier?  Well, now there’s official confirmation of the new contract and non-contract packages, hoping to lure those looking only for heavy upfront subsidies to a non-contract plan with equipment payments by installments.  The new T-Mobile Even More and Even More Plus plans kick off at $59 and $49 respectively, the former offering the more traditional device subsidy along with a two-year agreement, while the latter does without both the subsidy and the contract.

T-Mobile’s Project Dark still has the rumor-gibbons babbling, and so we’re pleased to see what look like hard numbers to go along with the speculation.  According to TmoNews, you’re looking at leaked price plan details for T-Mobile USA’s upcoming tariff refresh, which detail a number of new contract and non-contract plans all of which have free nationwide T-Mobile-to-T-Mobile calling and free nights/weekends.

T-Mobile’s mysterious plan-in-process Project Dark has been churning the rumor bins for a while now, and this seemingly leaked promo image is doing nothing to challenge that.  An unusually coy TmoNews received the shot from an unnamed source, and it seems to suggest that – Project Dark or otherwise – a new, unlimited plan is in the works.

Nikon have outed their latest DSLR, the Nikon D3S, described as their FX-format flagship and packing a new CMOS 12.1-megapixel sensor.  The D3S can shoot 720p HD video at 30fps and boasts a broad 200 to 12,800 ISO range (extendable to 102,400, in fact).  LetsGoDigital have already played with it in the wild, and they’re particularly impressed with the new 51-point AF system and the ability to grab screenshots from video clips as stills, all on-device.

Pico-projectors have managed to grudgingly convince quite a few people – ourselves included – that there’s a time and place for a tiny, portable cinema; our big issue is still the relatively high prices they command.  Optoma have stepped up their game on that front, however, with the launch of the PK-100, an entry-level model promising 480 x 320 resolution, 11 lumens brightness and a maximum image size of 66-inches.

We’ve reviewed our fair share of pico-projectors here at SlashGear, and while they’ve often had impressive aspects to their performance, there’s been nothing that pushed them out of “expensive toy” and into “must-have accessory”. 3M are hoping that their latest model does just that: the 3M MPro120 is the company’s second-generation attempt at the pico platform, using a new LCoS imager and four times the battery life. Can it earn a permanent place in our bag? Read on for the full SlashGear review.

JVC have outed their latest range of D-ILA home theater projectors, with a full six models on offer spanning prices from $5,000 to $10,000.  Three – the DLA-RS35, DLA-RS25 and DLA-RS15 – will be pushed via JVC’s professional products arm, while the remainder – the DLA-HD990, DLA-HD950 and DLA-HD550 – will go on sale via the consumer group.  Most impressive about all the models, though, are their contrast ratios: even the entry HD550 manages 30,000:1, while the top-spec RS35 and HD990 manage 70,000:1.
