PopcornHour have revealed their latest media streamer, the C200, and compared to the previous-gen models it’s a significant step up.  As well as a new 667MHz processor, the Sigma SMP8643, the PopcornHour C200 gets an HDMI 1.3 port, two SATA connectors, and a user-accessible drive bay for a HDD, DVD or Blu-ray drive.

Popcorn Hour A 110 A 100 1Popcorn Hour’s latest version of their 1080p play-anything media streamer, the A-110, has made its way onto the DigitalReviews test bench, and it’s brought some company: the B-110 is a Mini-ITX version of the A-110 hardware, and intended for AV enthusiasts who want to build a system around the Media Tank’s abilities.  Interestingly, rather than deciding that the A-110 replaces the original A-100, review Paul Moons suggests that the two streamers have sufficient differences to be of interest to different groups of buyers.

After Popcorn Hour announced an updated version of their media streamer, the A-110, we’ve been waiting to see if the changes really could make the great device any greater.  According to Crave UK, they have: for an extra $35 the biggest improvements are HMDI 1.3a, DTS downmixing and USB Target functionality.  In fact they describe the changes as “seriously worthwhile”.

Popcorn Hour’s undoubtedly brilliant “networked media tank” has been in to get re-armed, and come back as the A-110.  To the bevy of codecs supported there’s now 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA HDD and USB Slave functionality, HDMI has been updated to 1.3a, and there’s new support of HD Audio pass-through for DTS HD-HR, DTS HD-MA, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD.
