nikko wind turbineWe’re still waiting for a truly compact, domestic wind turbine in the manner of the Philippe Starck Democratic Ecology, but Japanese housing and environmental equipment manufacturer Nikko is promising something that sounds pretty close in 2009 [subscription required].  Expected to hit the market by October, the new wind turbine will measures roughly two meters in diameter and be priced at between $5,600 and $6,700.

Parrot have teamed up with designer Philippe Starck to create a new set of wireless speakers.  Called Zikmu, the speakers incorporate an iPod/iPhone dock together with WiFi and Bluetooth; the latter is used both to stream audio from mobile devices such as cellphones using A2DP, and to connect the two speaker columns themselves together.

That bloody Philippe Starck, he really needs to stop designing lovely products that so tease my wallet.  I actually already have a very similar digital Fossil watch that he created, but this new Veiled design really tickles my temptation glands.  Available now in both mens’ and womens’ versions (the latter being narrower), the analogue face is all-but-obscured by the electroplated crystal glass that looks to be a continuation of the stainless-steel bracelet.

Oh won’t you look at the sexy!  Swatch are known for both their indecently-fashionable design and the clip-out watch faces and swappable straps, and they’ve really excelled themselves with the Infinity concept design.
