eye fi pro 4gbEye-Fi have announced their latest wireless memory card, the 4GB Eye-Fi Pro.  Using the SDHC format, the new Eye-Fi Pro offers the usual automatic wireless transfer of images from digital cameras to a computer or website; however it also adds new file-type support, increased control over which images are synchronized, more flexible WiFi connectivity and video functionality.

The Eye-Fi Pro 4GB now includes “Selective Transfer”, which allows users to choose which photos and/or videos are uploaded.  This bypasses the issue with the older cards where every shot was transferred; according to Eye-Fi all users will now be able to use Selective Transfer, not just those with the Pro 4GB.  Images are selected by locking them through the camera’s own menus.

nikon logoRumor at best, and this time coming from a Korean digital camera community forum: someone claimed to have received information from another person who’s working at Nikon headquarter about a new DLSR to be unveil on the opening of PMA 2009. That sounds familiar with all the second-hand stories been told before any major digital camera shows, right? Let’s get to the story. That new model oddly, dubs D5000, and inherits the rather depressing no in-body’s AF motor likes the D40 and D60, hence the Entry-Level. However, it’s slightly upscale in performance level, and is neck to neck with current D90.

We know the Nikon D90 shoots HD format video at 720P but the rest of the DSLR members don’t, but there’s a hack enabling Nikon DSLR Live View motion images to be captured in PC. With little twist and work in manufacturer’s supplied SDK, programmer has found way to record live feed via USB, and the good news is, it could work for other Nikon DSLR with live view such as D3 and D300.

zigview s2 liveBroad line of DSLRs are currently supporting Live view but none of the lineup from Canon or Nikon offering a tilt/swivel LCD screen where it makes more sense. I’m just saying, it could be a whole lot more useful. If shooting though LCD screen suits you better, Zigview has updated it Zigview S2 with S2 Live to support Live view and extend it connectivity range.

Instead of capturing images from the viewfinder, S2 Live acquires the video feed directly from DSLRs on its 230.000 pixel LCD screen that offers a variety of settings such as brightness, color/B&W and the images can be rotated by 180 degree. Another nice feature of the S2 is its remote shutter function that’s capable of triggering your camera with remote release, motion-release or interval release from a distance.
