At the same time as launching the X-Slim X340 and X600, MSI were also flaunting their MSI Wind Box DC100 nettop, and the Wind Top AE1900, AE2010 and AE2200 touchscreen all-in-ones. Engadget Chinese grabbed some hands-on time with all four, together with the X340, and have come away considerably impressed. ASUS may have got there first with the Eee Box nettop and Eee Top all-in-one, while Apple certainly sired the X-Slim’s design DNA with the MacBook Air, but there’s still plenty of attraction in MSI’s range.

MSI have officially announced their all-in-one nettop.  The MSI Wind NetOn AP1900, which was first spotted back in November, has an 18.5-inch WSXGA 16:9 display, Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, up to 2GB of DDR2 memory and both a 160GB SATA hard-drive and DVD burner.  According to MSI, at full operating load the 35mm wide NetOn AP1900 requires just 35W, saving around 86-percent on a traditional PC.

January is a long way off, says ASUS (probably; we haven’t actually asked them).  Their Eee Top all-in-one PC is set to launch in the US tomorrow, according to CIO, with two versions of the touchscreen nettop up for grabs.  Both have the 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, run Windows XP and have ASUS’ own finger-friendly interface; the ET1603 adds ATI HD3450 graphics and, although this runs contrary to what we’ve heard previously, a battery for mobile use.

The ASUS Eee Top won’t have the all-in-one nettop field to itself for much longer: MSI are planning some rival integrated nettops of their own, in the shape of the new MSI Wind Neton range just unveiled in China.  The Neton M22, M19 and M16 have a 22-inch, 18.5-inch and 15.6-inch displays respectively, and are all based on either the single or dual-core Intel Atom CPU.  All have a touchscreen option and the M22 – which has a 1920 x 1080 resolution display – can be specified with a Blu-ray drive.
