Gateway have unveiled two new all-in-one PCs, which each run Windows 7 and offer multitouch-capable touchscreen displays.  The Gateway One ZX6800 and ZX4800 have a 23-inch 1920 x 1080 and 20-inch 1,600 x 900 display respectively, and as well as Windows 7’s finger-enhancements the company has also loaded them up with various music, photo, memo and other custom apps.

AT&T have announced a bevy of new features for their U-verse Total Home DVR system, that will begin rolling out to customers from today.  The updates include a 20-percent speed increase to Internet Max subscribers, taking their connection up to 12Mbps, plus more flexibility in scheduling recordings from any U-verse receiver or a new version of the system website.

SanDisk has now made their latest SSDs available for purchase. They’re called the pSSD P2 and S2 and they both use nCache technology, which is said to boost random write speeds up to five times over standard hard drives

AMD did something a bit surprising today. They’ve announced a new version of their ATI Radeon HD 4890 graphics chipset that will be factory-overclocked to bump up the standard speed from 850MHz to 1GHz.

Hot on the heels of NVIDIA’s GeForce announcement comes word from AMD regarding their own HD-capable mobile GPUs.  The ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4860 and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4830 are the world’s first graphics processors to use 40nm process technology, and are capable of beyond-1080p mobile gaming.

Team Finland have scored a world record 45,474 3DMarks with their liquid-nitrogen cooled Dragon PC, based on a heavily overclocked AMD Phenom II X4 processor.  The system also uses ATI Radeon HD 4800-series graphics, in the shape of two 4870 X2 GPUs.

If last week we were hypnotized by slick smartphones and tiny “Digital Lifestyle PCs“, then this week let’s try to focus at least a little on something that might affect a whole lot more of us.  AMD announced their latest notebook graphics platform, the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4000 series, along with the promise that gamers could expect twice the performance of the previous-generation HD 3000 series.  It’s also the first to support GDDR5 RAM, as well as having support for Microsoft DirectX 10.1.

amd1AMD has announced support for three new games. The graphics cards will be used in EA Phenomic Studio’s game Battleforge, Sega’s Stormrise, and NHN Games’ Cloud 9. All three of the games will be using DirectX 10.1. The games that are expected to use the cards and Direct 10.1 together range from strategy games, to a sci-fi title.

Computers need to be using Windows Vista in order to take full advantage of DirectX 10.1, but DirectX is compliant with AMD’s 3000 and 4800 series cards. According to the companies public statement “Only AMD graphics offer top-to-bottom DirectX 10.1 support”.
