I am a fan of music games like Guitar Hero and especially Rock Band. I have spent many a night making fun of my friends off key singing while playing Rock Band. I even have my share of aftermarket guitar controllers for the game. However, I draw the line at some of the stranger accessories like smoke kits and my own stage monitor speaker like the new HitMaster from Polk Audio.

I once watched this scary movie where one of those ventriloquist dummies stalked some people in a house with a big knife. The movie really creeped me out. This Guitar Hero playing robot created by a student at Minnesota West Technical College is really creepy and reminds me of that movie. Except this dummy would be following you around and hitting you with a guitar controller from Guitar Hero.

Well they say time files when you are having fun, but they never mention how fast time flies when you are typing your fingers to bleeding nubs to bring your wonderful readers all the gadget news fit to print and then some. Here we are again with another week in review for your reading pleasure. Spotify hit iPhone and Android devices this week. So many people grabbed the app that the free service quickly went back to invite only status. Sony unveiled a super-thin new wireless HDTV this week that makes Paris Hilton look fat by comparison. I am almost afraid to find out what the thin and feature packed set will cost.

With the announcement of Guitar Hero 5, nothing was bigger than the fact that Kurt Cobain, the former lead singer of Nirvana, had been licensed as a likeness within the game. We haven’t really gone into depth on this at all, even as the story broke repeatedly over the last week or so. It seemed to be just a flare up from Courtney Love, Cobain’s widow, as she defended herself against the myriad of complaints she had received from fans of Cobain and the band, most of which had been focused on her Twitter feed.

Whew! The week is over already and this has been another busy one here at SlashGear with more new announcements and gear than we can shake a stick at. Things kicked off this week with a video of the LG BL40 Black Label feature phone hitting the Web. This was a good thing since we hate teaser campaigns. One of the cooler things from early in the week was the Fujifilm announcement of the FinePix Real 3D digital camera coming this year. The only downside is the camera is about $600 and the digital frame required to see the photos goes for another $200.
