Iron Man invades not your screen but your GTA V game

Iron Man invades not your screen but your GTA V game

GTA V just got a bit more Marvelous, so to speak. And at least unofficially. That is, only if you have a PC copy of the game. Carrying on the venerable tradition of modifying, or modding, just PC games, Brazilian coder extraordinaire JulioNB included something, or someone, in the latest installment of Grand Theft Auto that you wouldn't normally find on the streets. Not unless you're in Marvel's world, of course. Yes, the Iron Man has come to San Andreas and, unlike (or very much like), the comic book superhero, he's in a very destructive mood.

If you're a Grand Theft Auto 5 fan who plays on the PC, you better think twice before you download mods...even if they're popular and widely known. The "Angry Planes" mod is cited as one malicious GTA 5 mod, as well as "NoClip" and a mod manager. One user in particular has gone so far as to publish removal guides.

Hack lets your control GTA V phone with your iPhone

Hack lets your control GTA V phone with your iPhone

Despite the prevalence of smartphones, few consoles and console games take advantage of this "second screen" available at our fingertips. Some games even have in-game phones that point to the fact, but don't always tie into the real world. While some games actually do use your mobile device as an extension of your game, GTA V isn't one of those. Well, at least not without this latest, still unpublished, hack. YouTube user " DIY Projects Planetleak" published a video showing how he controlled the game's in-game phone using, well, his iPhone.

VR hack lets you play GTA V on Oculus

Hot on the heels of Grand Theft Auto V's release for PC, player communities are finding ways to play in virtual reality using Oculus. These players are hacking the game by assembling basic VR mods for Oculus Rift. The tool behind this VR hack is VorpX, a tool that has been used to force VR rendering for a few games out there like BioShock: Infinite. VorpX's tools can be used to create mods generating full VR modes for first-person games and virtual 3D cinema mods for non-first-person games.

GTAV’s new PC requirements and a few 4K screen grabs to boot

Opho Keys hands-on: gTar’s modular keyboard follow-up

Back in 2012, gTar creator Idan Beck decided to squeeze an iPhone into a guitar controller and make a digital instrument; now, he's looking to do the same with the keyboard. Keys is a modular keyboard designed for mobile musicians, bypassing the complexity - and unnecessary button cruft - of existing mobile MIDI instruments, and instead focusing on flexibility. I caught up with Beck to test out my finger skills, and hear why Keys has potential for more than just magnetically-built modular controllers.
