The Viliv S10 may be a size increase for the Korean company, but at 10-inches the convertible touchscreen netbook is still very much an ultraportable.  Steve from MID Moves had a chance to grab some hands-on time with the S10, suggesting that the netbook is better put together than Gigabyte’s TouchNote; you can see his video after the cut.

The great thing about only spotting a new device when it launches is that you don’t have to wait too long until you can see if unboxed and in action.  Gigabyte’s TouchNote T1028X convertible touchscreen netbook only crossed our paths yesterday, but already Liliputing have their review unit in to play with.

Gigabyte have quietly updated their convertible touchscreen netbook range with the T1028X, a slightly re-fettled version of the T1028M they announced back at CeBIT 2009.  Among the key changes are a switch in processor, moving up to the Atom N280 1.66GHz CPU paired with a faster FSB, and a higher-resolution display, now running at 1,366 x 768.

img 8486 thumbWe’ve been talking about the T1028M Touchnote for awhile now, but nothing gets us more excited than full, genuine unboxing and that’s precisely what we came across today. The Gigabyte T1028M Touchnote got its moment in the sun today with a full unboxing over at UMPCPortal. This portable seemed to pretty much live up to expectations, though there was a disappointment factor when it came to the battery.

Gigabyte have posted the official specifications page and user manual for their T1028 TouchNote netbook.  The convertible touchscreen netbook was announced at CeBIT 2009, and has a 10.1-inch 1042 x 600 LED backlit display as standard, an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz or N280 1.66Ghz processor and 1GB of RAM (max 2GB).

Gigabyte’s three CeBIT 2009 netbooks have scored pricing and shipping dates from importer Mobilx.  The Gigabyte M1022 BookTop, which has an upright desktop docking station and the Gigabyte T1028M TouchNote with a convertible 10.1-inch touchscreen will land at the end of next month, followed by the Gigabyte S1024 ThinNote.
