Week in review time again, here we go! The Lenovo IdeaPad Pineview netbook hit the FCC Monday. The FCC is one of the most prolific leaker of gadgets and gear around and we love them for it. The CrunchPad is now said to be steamrolling toward a launch and may have a sponsorship deal in place. Word was a few weeks back that the tablet was dead.

According to their report, the Streak will be built by Qisda and released in the US with AT&T data in 2010.

The number of CPUS shipped grew 23% for the quarter compared to the previous year. ZiiLABS unveiled its new ZMS-08 Blu-ray quality media processor this week. The processor promises to be full 1080p HD video support and more for portable devices like tablets.
Dell Mini 3i gets unboxed

PConline have taken the glossy Android smartphone from box to bench, and there are a few surprises to be had; firstly, Dell have ignored the swathe of popular opinion and not bothered including a 3.5mm headphones jack, and secondly they’d dropped a stylus into the box.
Dell Mini 3i Android phone imminent for China; Brazil by end of 2009 [Updated]
By Chris Davies on Friday, Nov 13th 2009 No CommentsDell has come clean with its Android smartphone plans, revealing it will be launching the Dell Mini 3i in China “in the coming days” while a Brazilian release will take place before the end of 2009. According to Dell Latin America’s Hans Erickson, China and Brazil have been prioritized above all other regions; he also revealed that the Chinese version of the Mini 3i – set to launch on China Mobile – will lack 3G, while the Mini 3i headed to Brazilian carrier Claro will get the high-speed connectivity.
Update: Dell’s official blog has confirmed the news, together with dropping strong hints that the company will be leveraging existing carrier relationships for embedded mobile broadband netbooks for future Mini 3i releases. Vodafone in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and AT&T and Verizon in North America, are both name-checked. More photos of the Dell Mini 3i after the cut.

Don’t Do It Dell: Think Tablets, Not MIDs

The details are few and far between but the product—code-named Streak—looks like it packs Wi-Fi, 3G and Android 2.0 all into one. It is exactly what Intel has been calling a mobile internet device for the past few years: larger than a smartphone, primarily for accessing the Net, and featuring multimedia and even GPS functionality. The Archos 5 Internet Tablet and the leaked video of the Dell device gives us a better glimpse of what is to come and what it can do. Ironically (and you will see why later), when I watched the video I immediately thought: ah, so Dell wants to make an iPhone with a larger 5-inch screen!
Dell Mini 3iX clears FCC with AT&T 3G and WiFi

The Dell Mini 3iX was spotted in Brazil earlier this week, when it was said to support triband UMTS; the FCC listing for the handset mentions 850 and 1900 band support, which are the 3G bands AT&T uses for its high-speed network, together with WiFi (missing from the Chinese-version Mini 3i).

According to CelularCafe, the Mini 3iX has the same 3-megapixel camera as its Chinese counterpart, but adds triband 850/1900/2100 UMTS/HSDPA connectivity for pretty much global 3G access. The version already confirmed for China will lack 3G.

Monday we learned that a new hack was available from the iPhone Dev Team that adds MMS to first generation iPhones and tethering to 3.1.2 OS for the later iPhone models. We also found out that Microsoft is set to issue a new update for the Xbox 360 that will break unauthorized storage devices. That means that some gamers will be unable to access the saved game data after applying the new update.
Dell Streak 5-inch 3G Android MID leaks [Update: Video!]
By Chris Davies on Wednesday, Oct 21st 2009 1 CommentAfter Dell CEO Michael Dell confirmed that the company’s Android smartphone would, in fact, make it to the US – albeit with some changes from the original Chinese model – details of a second Android-based device have leaked. According to Tinhte.com and another image supplied to SlashGear, you’re looking at the Dell Streak, a 5-inch WVGA 800 x 480 touchscreen Android 2.0 Donut MID, with WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G WWAN connectivity.
