Pulse-LINK have announced that their CWave UWB Wireless-for-HDMI technology has been approved by Digital Content Protection, the administrating body behind the HDCP copy-protection standard. As an Approved Retransmission Technology, it means CWave products are now free to launch; offering gigabit transfer rates, they allow HDTVs to be placed anywhere in the home without long HDMI runs to feed them.
Pulse Link logo may become the standard print on next generation of HD devices along with CWave fever. It’s Gefen this time that announced World’s first HDMI over coax for High Definition video connectivity with Pulse-LINK’s CWave(R) UWB technology. I’m not sure about you, but I am psyched about the ability to extend the reach of HDMI from room to room over their existing in-home coax cabling, that including splitters according to Pulse~LINK.
Westinghouse is not only well known for affordable displays, it will go in history, next week at CES show 2008, as the first HDTV to offer integrated wireless HDTV. The Westinghouse Digital Wireless HDMI HDTV featuring Pulse Link’s integrated CWave UWB Wireless HDMI technology that offers real-time visually lossless wireless streaming of high quality audio and video content from sources like DVR, Blu-Ray or HD-DVD Players to display anywhere in the room or entertainment center.
Musiwave, a French company that offers AYCE (all you can eat) music services to cellular providers in Europe, might get purchased by Microsoft. If that were to happen, we might see that technology spread to Windows Live, WinMo, and maybe even the Zune.
God knows how long we’ve been waiting to see such a service available on the Windows Mobile platform, so that would be a blessing of its own. Then to see it spread to the Zune allowing you to connect to your favorite hotspot and download the tunes you just heard on the radio that would be awesome.
