Sony Ericsson have confirmed that there will be no update to Windows Mobile 6.5 offered to owners of the XPERIA X1 smartphone, at least not officially through the company.  The news follows speculation about Sony Ericsson's intent, after at least one developer got hold of a ROM that seemingly indicated an official update was planned.

Gigabyte have quietly updated their convertible touchscreen netbook range with the T1028X, a slightly re-fettled version of the T1028M they announced back at CeBIT 2009.  Among the key changes are a switch in processor, moving up to the Atom N280 1.66GHz CPU paired with a faster FSB, and a higher-resolution display, now running at 1,366 x 768.

LG and NComputing have announced a new range of “Network Monitors“, LCD displays with integrated thin-clients that can be used as virtual desktops or with cloud computing systems.  Unlike most thin-client systems, however, LG’s looks straightforward enough for home or SOHO implementation, requiring just an X550 PCI card to be installed into the server PC, the included vSpace virtualization software installed and then up to five N-series monitors hooked up via ethernet cable.

ASUS have announced US pricing and availability for the Eee PC 1008HA “Seashell”, first unveiled back at CeBIT in March.  Measuring just 1-inch thick and tipping the scales at 1.1kg, the ASUS Eee PC 1008HA will be available to preorder from May 18th, priced at $429.

Hot news for anybody hoping to kick off the summer with some touchscreen netbook action at the beach, as ASUS reveal their launch schedule for the Eee PC T91.  The convertible netbook – announced all the way back in January at CES – will be arriving in the UK in late May or early June, with a MRSP of £449 ($675).

ASUS have released full specifications for their new U- and UX-series ultraportables, announced back at CeBIT.  Five U-series models are detailed, together with two UX-series; processors range from Intel’s CULV line, Pentiums, Core 2 Solo and Core 2 Duo chips.  Displays range from the 12.1-inch U20A through to two 15.6-inch models, the U50G and U51Vg.

ASUS’ prince among netbooks, the Eee PC 1008HA “Shell”, is beginning to show up for pre-order at various UK retailers.  The rumor had been that the 1-inch thick Atom netbook would land in the UK sometime during April, but right now there doesn’t seem to be a consensus among stores: estimates at Amazon are still putting it 1-2 months away, while the BT Shop suggests just 1-2 weeks.

The ASUS Eee PC 1008HA “Shell” netbook has passed through the FCC, on the way to what we hope is an imminent release in the US.  Announced at CeBIT back in March, the Eee PC 1008HA is an ultra-thin 25.7mm netbook with an Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz processor, 160GB hard-drive and 1GB of RAM.

Gigabyte have posted the official specifications page and user manual for their T1028 TouchNote netbook.  The convertible touchscreen netbook was announced at CeBIT 2009, and has a 10.1-inch 1042 x 600 LED backlit display as standard, an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz or N280 1.66Ghz processor and 1GB of RAM (max 2GB).

ASUS’ upcoming convertible touchscreen tablet netbook, the ASUS Eee PC T91, has cleared the FCC, paving the way for a US launch.  Unlike some filings, the T91’s does not include internal shots – which have, for previous devices, given modders an idea of how customizable the products will be.
