Cadillac recalls 67k ATS sedans to fix sunroof troubles

Cadillac recalls 67k ATS sedans to fix sunroof troubles

If you're the proud owner of a Cadillac ATS sedan, you might soon be the slightly inconvenienced owner of a Cadillac ATS sedan. General Motors has revealed that it will be recalling about 67,000 of the vehicles, though thankfully the problem is far less troublesome than many of the vehicular issues we've seen crop up in recent months. The sunroof in select vehicles can end up closing with only the slightest touch of the control, something that (thankfully) isn't dangerous, but certainly annoying.

You can now order Cadillac’s BMW baiter, the ATS-V

Late last year, Cadillac unveiled their newest performance-focussed automobile, the ATS-V. The RWD twin-turbo V6 turned heads with its angular design, but dropped jaws with its performance. With 455 HP and 445 lb-ft torque, the 189 mph top speed is almost an easy gallop for the ATS-V rather than a redline end goal. If you’ve had your eye on one, we suggest you finish reading this article, then get in your car and head to your Cadillac dealer, because the ATS-V is now up for pre-order.

The Cadillac CTS-V is a 200mph slap at BMW

The Cadillac CTS-V is a 200mph slap at BMW

What's been holding Cadillac back, president Johan de Nysschen said today, is its absence of a small crossover and an entry-level luxury model, then proceeding to reveal a 200 mph super-sedan. The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V may not fill either of the increasingly obvious gaps in the GM luxe-marque's line-up - though cars to address both needs, among others, will come before 2020 the company insists - but it does do something arguably more interesting from a driving perspective, in taking the power fight directly to BMW's M and Mercedes-Benz's AMG ranges.

Cadillac reveals digital rear-view mirror for CT6 luxe-sedan

Cadillac reveals digital rear-view mirror for CT6 luxe-sedan

Cadillac is readying a digital rear-view mirror for its upcoming flagship sedan, the 2016 Cadillac CT6, delivering a wide-angle view of what's going on behind the car to an LCD built into the mirror. The system, set to land next year, will pair a super-wide LCD with an HD camera mounted on the rear of the CT6, and allow the driver to switch between a traditional mirror and a digital version with roughly four-times the coverage with a lever underneath. It's not the first time we've seen a big car firm flirt with such a system, but it could well be the first to be officially offered in the US.

2016 Cadillac CTS-V confirmed for NAIAS

2016 Cadillac CTS-V confirmed for NAIAS

On the 13th of January in Detroit we'll be catching our first glimpse of the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V. This has been confirmed by General Motors and is suggested to bring the Cadillac V-Series "to the next level." This vehicle will be shown alongside the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V, the second in line in this next-generation family of track-capable cars. This will be the third-generation CTS-V and, given the track records the previous models have set - and the pricing schedule set by previous models VS their higher-priced competitors - this release aught to be a doozy.

Cadillac CT6 will ape the Germans as it ignores them

Cadillac CT6 will ape the Germans as it ignores them

Cadillac will reveal its new CT6 range-topping luxury sedan in April at the New York Auto Show, kicking off an ambitious relaunch that will see the firm simultaneously ape and distance itself from German marques. The Cadillac CT6 - which will be inspired by the 2013 Elmiraj concept, though be a four-door rather than a coupe - will be the GM division's own interpretation of what American automotive luxury means, but according to new marketing chief Uwe Ellinghaus, it'll never actually describe it as such.

Cadillac’s 2015 ATS-V wants to kill BMW’s M3/M4

Cadillac’s 2015 ATS-V wants to kill BMW’s M3/M4

Cadillac has taken the wraps off of its latest high-performance cars for its most eager drivers, the ATS-V in Coupe and Sedan forms. Taking the existing ATS and fettling it to within an inch of its angular life, the RWD two- and four-door cars get a twin-turbo V6 3.6L engine good for 455 HP and 445 lb-ft of torque, making them more powerful - not to mention, with a 189 mph top speed, faster - than BMW's M3 and M4.

Cadillac schemes plans to trample Tesla

Cadillac schemes plans to trample Tesla

Cadillac is planning a strike at Tesla, with a fully-electric luxury car on the roadmap that will see the company challenge the Model S as the GM-owned marque broadens its play for eco-friendly motoring. The all-electric car - the name of which has not been confirmed - will be one of a number of new models that includes the refreshed ELR plug-in hybrid and a luxury sedan now known to be the CT6. However, Cadillac is also considering a number of other models, including new crossovers and an even huger, uber-luxe sedan to take on the best of German rivals from Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi.

Cadillac and American Airlines partner to bring perks

You can never have too many travel perks, and so the latest announcement from Cadillac and American Airlines is welcomed news: the two companies have partnered to bring perks for travelers who use American Airlines, all of them revolving around Cadillac in some way. The downside is that the program will be limited to four (big) airports, with the exception of one perk, which will give any American Airlines' customers the option to earn frequent flier miles for test driving a Cadillac at their nearest dealership.
