There’s nothing like a good Special Edition release of a video game to get you hyped up about owning the actual software. Nothing like a good Batmobile, either. That’s why the folks at Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have teamed up with the model-makers at Triforce to create a fully transformable Batmobile for their big-time release.
Can't get enough movie props? Hollywood Collectibles Group has rolled out a limited supply of batarangs from the Michael Keaton-era Batman movies, one of which includes an LED display as seen in Batman Returns. They're sent in a case for display in your collection, but there's no shame in taking one out and letting it fly.
It's not unusual to spot costumed personalities doing stunts while shooting or doing some promotional thing. But suddenly zooming past you in the middle of a highway? Not so much. Tetsuya Nomura, head of Kingdom Hearts and designer for Final Fantasy, has redesigned Batman. Nomura has stepped forward with the first in a series of action figures which represent complete redesigns of classic comic characters. This strange beast of a Batman summons memories of Todd McFarlane’s vision for SPAWN, or the Batman/SPAWN crossover collection. But more than that, this is an imagining of Batman we’d have expected to find as a boss in an epic RPG.
There’s a whole collection of LEGO sets and minifigs appearing this week at San Diego Comic Con, perhaps the most exciting of which is the Batman Tumbler. This Batmobile is a reproduction of the Tumbler from the Dark Knight trilogy. This means you’ve seen it before if you’ve seen any of the most recent Batman films to have been released in theaters.
Batman: Arkham Knight fans get some good news and bad today, with a new trailer showing the Batmobile transforming into its "Battle Mode", but also confirming that the game now isn't expected until 2015. Original tipped for a release on October 14th this year, the launch has been pushed back into the new year at an unspecified date.
When a film is as full of hype as the upcoming Batman V Superman film, even the full title of the film is summoned as newsworthy. Today the folks responsible for continuing to fan the flame have revealed that title. The movie will be called Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
