Launch details about AMD's upcoming Congo ultra-thin platform have leaked, this time courtesy of talkative notebook manufacturers in leaky old Taiwan.  DigiTimes claims that Congo will now arrive in late October or early November, having missed its original July launch after calls for ultra-thins turned out to be less vocal than expected.  As we've already seen, Congo will include the dual-core Turion Neo X2 L625, Athlon Neo X2 L335/L325 and single-core Athlon Neo MV-40 processors, paired with the AMD M780G chipset.

AMD have revealed their latest attempt to corner the market in notebook hardware, with the launch of the 2009 AMD Mainstream Notebook Platform “Tigris” and the Second-Generation AMD Ultrathin Platform.  Both combine AMD’s latest CPUs and ATI-range GPUs, and promise up to 42-percent improved performance in the mainstream range and ultraportables that “visibly outperform” rival systems (such as Intel’s CULV, we presume) when it comes to 3D gaming, media processing and more.

Now HP are preparing at least two new versions of the notebook, together with a new color option.  Of interest to anybody who found the Yukon CPU of the original dv2 underpowered, AMD’s dual-core Congo and full Athlon X2 processors are set to hit the notebook; there’s also a white version planned.
