Meizu MX3 Review

With the release of the Meizu MX3, the company once again aims high with their ability to create a high-end device that, at first, looks like it'd be able to compete with the finer solutions by the top manufacturers in the USA. What we've got here instead - in this current international edition of the device - is a machine that'll be able to compete with brands in China and surrounding markets with a look that's smooth, abilities that are quite nice, and Android 4.2-based Flyme OS 3.0 - read: rather unique.

MEIZU smartphone makers headed to USA

The folks responsible for devices like the MX, MX2, and MX3 inside China are letting it be known this week that they'll soon enter the USA. Meizu announces MX Quad-core with Exynos processor

Just five months after the Meizu MX became official, it's getting the quad-core processor that the Chinese superphone was rumored to get in the first place. But this time there's a surprise: the MX Quad-core is using Samsung's Exynos A9 architecture for its system-on-a-chip, something that should make performance junkies ecstatic even without a given clock speed. Meizu announced the new phone today with a planned release in June, claiming a 60% increase in processor performance and a 50% jump in GPU performance over the previous version.

Meizu MX Review

Meizu MX Review

While the Meizu electronics brand isn't that well known outside of China at the moment, they're certainly a brand to be reckoned with in the smartphone market, and if the Meizu MX is any indication, they'll be a whole lot more well known in the very near future. The device you see before you is a high-end Android device made for release in China only, but because of its 2G and 3G network bands, we're able to use it here in the USA with a micro SIM card from T-Mobile or AT&T, whichever we so choose to pop in. Because of this, the review of this device makes for a rather interesting exercise in testing Meizu on a global scale: can this MX smartphone stand up to the rest of the Android devices here in the USA?
