Those of you looking to get your hands on one of the cheap(er) 60GB PlayStation 3s should really get a move on. Sony has confirmed that they have depleted their own supply of the console and won’t be making any more.

PS3

Sony made an official statement that all units had been purchased and shipped to retail chains, but you should still likely be able to find them on store shelves for now.

The big question is whether or not Sony will decide to drop the price of the 80GB PS3 once the 60GB model can no longer be found. My guess is that if they’re going to do it at all, we’ll see a drop in November in time for the holidays. I wouldn’t really hold my breath for that one though, it took them long enough to finally drop the price on the 60GB.

This is so sad,I’m scared to ask my parents because they might say no,(might as well wait until they ask for my Christmas list) that would break me down more because, all of the 60GBs might be gone by Christmas and a 80GB feels less than a 60GB.I pray to GOD I really hope on getting a 60GB PS3 for Christmas.

I would assume they would have too to keep on top of competition once the 60 GB is gone and the holidays roles around.

Why do I get the feeling they are lying about their supply depleting just so they can get more money?
